Building Progress

The one-acre site has been cleared, which is important to catch the maximum sunlight for the solar panels. The 600-foot road and parking area was improved with a layer of landscaping felt, railroad ballast (small rocks), and road bond. An underground water pipe 400 feet long was laid from the well at the Neohumanist College of Asheville. An underground electric line 300 feet long was laid by the French Broad Electric Cooperative Company from our neighbour Dharma’s adjacent land.

The building permit has been issued by Madison County. The septic tank and field have been installed and approved. The foundation has been dug and the basement walls have been constructed. The basement floor was waterproofed and the framing has begun. The siding, roof, windows and stairs have been complete. The next steps are insulation, dry wall, electrical, plumbing, flooring, trim, furnishings, and appliances.
